Superman: Changing the origin story and the costume does not change the fact that he’s basically a shiny happy face on white supremacy. If he were really from a morally advanced civilization, he’d…
Pause.
Number one: Clark came here as a baby and grew up in ‘American’ culture. Even when he became an adult, he still identified as an American. And that whole ‘protect the American way of life’ was added to the story around WWII.
Number 2 and 3: “If he were really from a morally advanced civilization, he’d be a villain in our society. There’s no way a morally advanced being looks at the prison industrial complex and doesn’t tear it down.” He didn’t even know that he was Kryptonian until he was an adult. Also, that morally advanced civilization destroyed themselves, and they also had penal complexes.
Lastly, according to your logic, Superman should want to tear down penal complexes because he was born in a ‘morally advanced civilization’ even though he did not grow up in that culture? If that’s the case, should we not question why ANY of our beloved comic-book heroes have not done the same thing?
Your logic is flawed.
